Prepaid phones

Now that more and more people have cellphones, most people want the most updated versions with all the access of apps and everything. Although this is true there are still some people who use prepaid phones.I know that a lot of people who use prepaid phone use them because of money issues . Prepaid phones are cheaper and do not come with a monthly bill. People who can not afford monthly phone bills which are very outrageous, use prepaid phones so that they can still have access to communicating on the go. They just pay for minutes whenever they have the money. Also a lot of parent use prepaid phone for young pre-teen. They don't want to buy extremely expensive phone for a preteen who could be irresponsible and drop it or leave it somewhere, with the prepaid phone the parent can still have contact with the preteen with less expense. Just because some criminal are abusing the use of prepaid should not be a reason for government to ban them ,  they should make companies have more of an effort to not sell prepaid phone to just anyone, by getting a little information from the person with their purchase. This way it could reduce the crime and everyone would still the option of getting a prepaid phone if they want one.

Computer Chips in humans ?

Most people are aware that veterinarians have the ability to implant computer chips in house pet. Which I agree with because my cat actually has one and it was very convenient to find him when he got lost one winter. However some people have put out the idea of placing these chips in young children. I completely disagree with this thought. I think this is way to risky to have young kids undergo surgery just so they can be tracked all times. They do not need chips implanted in their head just to be tracked. There are many non risky devices that can be used to track your child if that is what your worried about. I don't think parents should have the right to decide whether to implant chips in  children's head. The chip will stay their for there whole life and the child will never get the say of whether they did or didn't want the chip. Once they become teenager they will most likely be upset with the fact that without their control or want they can be tracked. If Congress required young children under 5 to have id chips implanted , I would think that is completely out of line. People should be able to make their own decisions and since young children are not old enough to make that big of a decision it should be avoided. I understand the benefits of the tracking for decreasing missing children and such like that , I just don't believe the risk of surgery and freedom of decision are worth that. On the other hand if a parent or relative was to buy gps shoes for a young child or senior with Alzheimer , it would beneficial and appropriate  because it would stop the child or senior from getting lost yet they have the ability to remove it whenever.

First Blog

As a freshman business  student I am taking this course It's a networking world: the good, the bad, and the ugly. I originally picked this course because it was one of the few that fit in with my schedule. I am happy that I picked this class because at times it is very interesting. I never before put much thought into the web as I do now after discussing some of the things in this class. I am interested in studying technology and the internet more as we go along. This blog will have content relating to the CS class.
